We are frequently instructed in matrimonial cases where we are usually involved in the valuation of shares owned by either of the parties in the family owned company. As valuation is a subjective area, it is vitally important to form a reasoned view of the value of the business in question.
We frequently find that an additional part of our work is to look at the finances of the parties as a whole to advise on how positions can be balanced without destroying the largest asset, the family owned company.
