Another successful White Horse Challenge!

Well, what another great success. If you happened to have been walking anywhere near Wiltshire’s seven white horses over the weekend, you couldn’t have missed seeing everyone who was taking part in the White Horse Challenge.

MHA Monahans is proud to have created and organised with the White Horse Challenge for 12 years now and this year we had over 130 people registered. That’s people and families of all ages who faced one of challenges of either a seven, 27 or 52 mile walk.

It was incredible to see all of these people come together to raise money for such a good cause. It costs the Wiltshire Air Ambulance £3.25 million a year to provide this life-saving service and our walkers have raised almost £150,000 for them since the White Horse Challenge started. As the Wiltshire Air Ambulance is completely publicly funded, we must all take responsibility to ensure that this service remains – you never know when you, or a loved one, may need it.

The White Horse Challenge is a great weekend. I’ve completed the mini challenge myself twice now and this year I was joined by my wife, and a number of other Partners from MHA Monahans together with their families. The weekend was really hot, so plenty of water and sun cream was needed and even the two dogs in our party had slowed down by the end! The children in the group also did really well to manage the distance, and we took in two of the White Horses on the route.

Ashleigh Ward, who works on the MHA Monahans tax team, must be applauded too for completing the two day, 52 mile challenge. Ashleigh walked each and every one of the seven white horses – a fantastic achievement.

It’s inspiring to talk to the other participants and find out the reasons why they’re taking part too. The number of people who have directly or indirectly benefitted, and are here today, thanks to an air ambulance, is staggering.

We’ve also received great support from local businesses in making this happen too. Our challenge campers were all treated to a delicious local breakfast, thanks to Sandridge Farm in Bromham supplying the bacon and The Good Egg company in Hilperton providing us with eggs. Bread rolls were also donated by Greggs too.

The White Horse Challenge is a great example of business and the community coming together to achieve good – and it’s something we’re immensely proud of at MHA Monahans.
