Ladies Business Lunch
For our first Bath ladies lunch of 2018, we are delighted to have Lauren Harkin, Employment Partner at Royds Withy King, as our guest speaker.
The Gender Pay Gap
Despite the Equal Pay Act being around for almost 50 years, women in Britain today still earn less than men. We understand that the current pay gap between men and women in the UK still stands around 10%.
Lauren has extensive experience across a wide range of employment law matters, and spends her time advising both local and national businesses as well as individual employees and senior level directors.
She is a keen advocate and has made many successful appearances in the Employment Tribuanl and the Employment Appeals Tribunal.
As we embark on the new gender pay gap reporting obligations for larger employers in April 2018, Lauren will explore the UK’s gender pay gap including:-
- Giving a brief overview of the gender pay reporting legislation
- Looking at developments in the gender pay gap over recent years
- Discussing why women earn less than men
- Considering the recent media hype about the gender pay gap and inequality of pay.
