Charity Activity

Each year Monahans selects a charity to support and money is raised throughout the year via a wide range of quizzes, challenges and other events.

For 2011/12 we will be raising funds for The Prince's Trust and entering ourselves into the charity’s Million Makers Challenge to raise a minimum of £10,000 for this good cause.

For this challenge we have formed our own fundraising team, Monahans Fundraisers.

Come Dine With Monahans

Our charity recipe book launch took place recently and we have already had a flurry of orders. The book has over 50 recipes donated by a variety of staff and includes: Soups, Salads, Dressings, Main courses, Desserts, Cakes and Bakes. There are also drink recommendations by Partner Harry Hilliard for a selection of main courses, to whet your appetite.

Each book costs £4 with all proceeds going towards our Million Makers Challenge total. If you would like to purchase a copy they are available on the main reception in each office or please email us and we will take your order. 

Q.I. Quiz with Stephen Fry

A fantastic evening was had by all at St Margaret's Hall in Bradford on Avon. Twelve teams, comprising solicitors, bankers, work colleagues and friends, battled it out to be crowned champions. In the end, it was Gin'll Fix It who were victorious with an impressive score of 104. In second place were Easy Questions Please with 98 and in third place were Rodettes who beat Mogers in the tie break question, having both scored a respectable 95. Proceeds from ticket sales, the raffle and the bar mean an impressive amount in excess of £1,700 was raised for the Prince's Trust. A BIG thank you to all who participated and supported us in a very successful event.

Background

The Prince’s Trust helps 14 to 30-year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds who have lost their way for a variety of reasons. The trust supports these young people through various initiatives with the aim of introducing them into the workplace or into business in their own right.

We will be enlisting the support of our own staff as well as asking local businesses in the community to join us in having fun and supporting The Prince's Trust.
