We provide a bespoke flexible HR service consisting of retained or ad-hoc HR support and all the work we undertake is tailored to meet the needs of your business. With sound advice and guidance that is compliant with current employment legislation in a variety of different ways, we can meet your needs in areas such as:

  • Recruitment and selection – getting the right people in the right place at the right time
  • Managing performance - from coaching managers to supporting action for underperforming employees
  • Termination of employees, including redundancy
  • Managing absence
  • Disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Employment contracts and the provision of policies and procedures that meet business needs but are compliant with employment legislation

Retained HR Support

We provide advice in dealing with specific people management issues, such as disciplinary matters, sickness absence, or unauthorised absence, in line with current legislation and good practice.  The provision of the retained service includes:

  • Named main point of contact,  supported by the rest of our HR team
  • HR health-check
  • Telephone support providing access to advice and support between 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday
  • Provision of, or review of, letters and documents e.g. dismissal letters, disciplinary warnings, offer letters
  • Review of draft policies, handbooks and procedures
  • Provision of updates in light of legislative changes for all policies and procedures that we have reviewed or compiled
  • Quarterly HR updates by e-mail on legislative changes and comment on topical issues
  • Annual review to ensure that the services we provide meet the agreed standards

HR Healthcheck

With ever changing legislation, keeping you policies and procedures up to date is becoming more and more difficult. Monahans HR team provides a Healthcheck service whereby we will spend time reviewing everything related to managing your workforce.

This process will identify areas of need, recommend ways to revise existing policies and procedures as well as identify areas of non-compliance with employment legislation. Following the review, you will receive a detailed report highlighting areas where it is recommended that you make changes that could benefit your business.

On Site Support

Many organisations do not have a dedicated HR department, or on occasions need someone to support an existing team on a specific project.

Should you need a “HR Manager” for particular activities, such as a disciplinary meeting, redundancy programme, return to work interview or manager coaching, we can take on that role for you at your premises for the duration of the activity.

Recruitment Support

Recruiting new employees is very time consuming and the cost of getting it wrong can be very high. Monahans HR team can support you in making sure you appoint the best person for the job and take a lot of the administration off of your hands.

We are able to undertake recruitment support in areas such as:

  • Draft person specifications and job descriptions
  • Advise on suitable media and draft advertisement
  • Co-ordinate recruitment administration including applicant responses, acknowledgements, invitations to interview and regret letters.
  • Designing short-listing and interview documentation to demonstrate how candidates meet the person specification including:
    - behavioural questionnaires
    - business based case studies
    - skills or intelligence assessments
  • Assessment days for key roles
  • Support in the interview process
  • Offer and contractual documentation
  • Reference checks

Employment Contracts & Employee Handbooks

There is a legal requirement to provide information within eight weeks of commencement of employment and this, along with the employee handbook, provides an opportunity to establish the standards and expectations that you have of your employees.

In addition to covering key policies and procedures, the handbook should include information that is pertinent to employment, e.g. the induction process, probationary periods, and what employees can expect in these areas. It should be designed in a way that is easy to understand and follow and that encourages the employee to read it.

The main topics the handbook should cover would include:

  • Introduction and background to the business
  • Terms and conditions covering the key policies e.g. disciplinary and grievance, sickness absence, holiday booking
  • Salary and benefits
  • Health and Safety
  • Any other areas that are important to your business such as working for another employer

Policies and Procedures
We can provide all draft policies and procedures specifically designed to meet your business needs, whilst ensuring consistency and compliance with legislation.

Letters, Forms and Documentation
We can provide hard copies and a disc containing template documentation to support all key areas of people management, for example recruitment, disciplinary and grievance, absence, maternity and any other family friendly areas.
