Monahans named finalists in two categories at prestigious national accountancy awards

Respected South West accountancy firm Monahans has been named a finalist in two categories at the Accounting Excellence Awards 2025, a recognition of the firm’s commitment to its people and clients alike.

The firm, which has eleven offices across the South West, is shortlisted for both Employer of the Year and Large Firm of the Year, reflecting its impressive growth, outstanding employee engagement and continued focus on delivering exceptional service to clients across the region.

This latest achievement marks another milestone in Monahans’ journey as part of the rapidly expanding Sumer Group, a national network of accountancy practices dedicated to serving the SME market.

Over the past year, Monahans has strengthened its team, launched new services, and rolled out firm-wide initiatives to further embed its culture of care, capability and commercial excellence.

In the Employer of the Year category, judges have recognised Monahans’ people-first approach. Key initiatives include its training and development framework, award-winning wellbeing strategy and the launch of the PROUD campaign, which celebrates authentic voices from within the firm and champions personal growth and career progression.

In the Large Firm of the Year category, Monahans has been acknowledged for its sustained growth and client-first approach. The firm achieved 15 per cent organic fee growth over the past year, while introducing new services such as Internal Audit and Outsourced Finance to better meet the needs of its client base.

The launch of the Digital Solutions team, investment in internal systems, and the appointment of a Commercial Partner have helped ensure Monahans remains innovative and responsive to market demands.

Managing Partner, Simon Tombs, said: “Being shortlisted in not just one but two categories is first and foremost a fantastic achievement, but it also highlights the hard work and energy that the Monahans team deliver on a regular basis. We are a people business through and through, and our success is built on creating an environment where our colleagues thrive and our clients feel supported.”

The Accounting Excellence Awards will this year take place at the London Roundhouse on 30 September.
