Sophie Austin

Having joined Monahans in 2017, I have a really varied and interesting role:

I lead our brilliant People Team, with responsibility for creation and delivery of our People Strategy – attracting the best people, creating an environment where people can grow personally and professionally, have a passion for what they do and of course, have fun! It’s an absolute privilege to work with so many talented individuals, whose commitment to their clients and the service they provide is second to none!

I’m also responsible for our HR consultancy, which prides itself on providing commercial, tailored and pragmatic people solutions for our clients. We offer a range of support, from writing handbooks and policies, recruitment and advising and guiding on how to handle tricky people related challenges. We can also provide strategic advice and expertise, supporting and facilitating strategy design, team building and individual and team coaching, and advice on longer term people planning and change management.

As part of our commitment to making a positive social and environmental impact, the development of our ESG strategy is also part of my role. It’s a really exciting area to be involved in, to shape the way we do business and engage more consciously with those we serve.

My background

With over 25 years within HR, I’ve held a variety of leadership roles, working with Board and Operational Executive teams in a variety of industry sectors in organisations of varying sizes – from corporate to SME. My breadth of experience encompasses business strategy facilitation, organisational design and leading transformation.

I’m also a qualified Executive Coach and Business Mentor, having graduated with a Masters in Coaching & Behavioural Change from Henley Business School.

Outside work, I spend much of my free time out walking with my faithful hound but I also love travelling, reading, walking and food!
